Our 2007 Tour has now past
We
have had another fantastic year. We saw record numbers come out to
see us in 2007. There were many new faces from far and wide,
and we'd like to thank all those who turned out to support our
fabulous artists. With the show now over we excitedly await
the draw to see who won our $200.00 Certificate towards art from one
of our tour members.
A
Special thanks goes out to "For
the Love of
Jo" Coffee house in Stouffville for their help supporting us
year round. You will find the work of a tour artist each month hanging
on the walls of their fabulous shop. They currently have
to work of Studio Tour artists on their walls. So why not go in and
enjoy the artwork you enjoyed during the tour with a great cuppa-Jo. they are located at 6308 Main St. in
Stouffville.
Pam Wright of Stouffville Picture framing is also
exhibiting the work of potters and jewelers in her Main St. store
front window. (6186 Main St.)
We would also like to acknowledge the Town
of Whitchurch-Stouffville for their support this year. We look
forward to working with the town to promote the Stouffville Studio Tour for years
to come.
For those of you who are unaware of what the heck a
studio tour is, please read the following.
The
Stouffville Studio tour is a weekend event that happens every
October on the weekend after thanksgiving. Local artists open
their homes and studios for the public to view their artistic
creations. We have 24 locations to view the 34 artists on the
tour this year. You may now be asking "how the heck am I going to
find all the locations?". The answer is.... we provide you a
map. You will be able to find a map online (on this very
website in the near future). We also print a brochure (Available in
September 2007) that has the official map with information on all
the artists and their locations. You can pick two or three artists
to see over the two days, or if you're really ambitious, you can try
to see them all.
We do offer a free draw for a certificate to
be redeemed for $200 towards the purchase of any active tour artist's
work. You may fill out 1 ballot per location. With the 20+ locations,
this gives you an added incentive to try and see them all. Go to tour
information to see last years prize winner.
The tour is a great way to spend an Autumn
day in the "Country close to the city" that is
Whitchurch-Stouffville. An added bonus is that is it's
completely free! The art of course is for sale, but there's never
any pressure to buy. If you just want to come to browse and
chat with the artists, that's just fine. We love to share our
gifts with other people and simply enjoy your feedback.
We certainly hope you can join us for the
Stouffville Studio Tour on October 18th and 19th 2008. If
you need any additional information please feel free to contact
us.
Sincerely,
Steve
