Joan Chalmers

Following graduation from her Art Studies, Joan entered the world of advertising art. She distinguished herself working for several major studios in Toronto. She was rapidly promoted to Senior Graphic Artist, then Assistant Art Director. Later in her career, she established in partnership her own Art Studio. Throughout her life, Joan has always been attracted to painting and fine art. Joan lets her curiosity combined with a love of colour lead her creativity. She continued her studies in this area painting with some of the leading artists in Canada and the USA. She also completed many College courses in both art and photography. Joan taught art for the York Region Board of Education & the City of Scarborough, Joan's artwork is shown in many art venues throughout Toronto and Ontario. Her artwork is in many private collections in Canada, USA, Portugal and Britain. She has been a member of the Stouffvlle Studio Tour for ten years and a member of the Society of York Region Artists.
