What is a Studio Tour?

The Stouffville Studio Tour is a weekend event that happens every October on the weekend after Thanksgiving.  Local artists open their homes and studios for the public to view their artistic creations.  We have 24 locations to view the 36 artists on the tour this year.

The very best thing about studio tours is they are absolutely FREE to attend.  We offer a "No Pressure, Just Pleasure" Environment. BTW there are usually plenty of free snacks to be had.  But save room for our wonderful eating establishments (especially those who sponsor us).

How do I know who’s on the Tour, and find all the locations?

-We provide you with a map.  Maps, that is. Actually, there are more ways to find us than ever before! We print a brochure, which is mailed out to those on our mailing list and distributed to stores and community centers throughout the GTA. It is also available in September at our sponsoring locations. That brochure has the official map with information on all the artists and their locations. Also (new this year!) each artist is now linked to Google Maps, so you are sure to find that artist! To view this, please see the individual artists’ profile in the Artists section. Use that map to find the first location you wish to visit. Once there, you have the option of following the tour brochure map to any of the other locations you wish to see. Pick a handful of artists to see over the two days, or if you're really ambitious, try to see them all. Don’t worry too much if you’re not tech-savvy, there will also be clear signage on the streets indicating the directions and the locations. FREE DRAW

The FREE DRAW is for a $200 certificate to be redeemed towards the purchase of any active tour artist's work. You may fill out 1 ballot per location per person. With 21 locations, this improves your odds considerably if you try to see them all!

The draw takes place each year on October 31st and the winner will be contacted by phone. The Certificate is good for one year (the next Stouffville Studio Tour) and is not redeemable for cash.

How do I get to Stouffville, Ontario Canada?

As the tour gets more widely known and more popular, we have people coming from farther and farther afield.  For those of you from outside of driving distance, a plane ride to Toronto's Pearson International Airport is a good start to your journey…

Seriously though.  If you’re driving from Toronto, take Hwy. 401 to Hwy. 404 north.  Exit at Stouffville Rd. and head east. The trip from Toronto averages about an hour, depending on where in the city you start from. The core of Stouffville is approximately 10 to 15 minutes from the 404. Stouffville Rd. eventually becomes Main St., Stouffville at Hwy. 48. (Western edge of town.) Once in town you should be able to find a location by spotting our directional signs on the side of the road. If you don’t yet have a map, just pick one up at one of our sponsors along Main St.

You don't want to miss the 10 artists in Ballantrae are either.  Take Hwy 48 north to Aurora Sideroad and follow the signs.

We also have GO transit service to our beautiful town. Service is limited to GO Buses as trains do not run on weekends. It’s a pleasant, comfortable ride from Toronto’s Union Station. Click Here for the GO Transit schedule.
