New to Stouffville and the studio tour, Laureen has recently started up “Second St. Studio”, a home-based business where she is eager to put her passion for “creating” in stained glass, wood-crafting and sign-making to work. She is a self-taught artist with the added experience of working at a stained glass studio, and uses the copper-foil technique and glass-etching to produce eye-catching hanging panels, cabinet door inserts, mirrors, mosaics, garden stones, and many other 3-dimensional items in a variety of patterns and colours.
Her studio also includes a wood-working shop where she loves to design and build original pieces such as outdoor benches, yard art, decorative shelves, signs and more for the home and garden.
Formerly a graphic arts department manager, Laureen is also skilled in design and equipped to produce computer-generated vinyl-cut graphics for custom signs and banners for business, special events or community groups.
When she’s not working in the studio,
you’ll most likely find her with tools or a paintbrush in hand, busily renovating her century home.
