About the artist

Diana’s background includes workshops in watercolours and acrylics with many prominent artists. Her work reflects the influence of eastern and western styles of painting. She studied the Nagna style of Sumi-e (Japanese Brush Painting) at the Japanese Cultural Centre. In 1999 she submitted a painting and earned her Seal. She continues her studies of eastern art in workshops with Sumi-e artists, including artists from China and Japan. Diana is currently an active member of the Lemonville Group of Artists and the Sumi-e Artists of Canada. She joined the Stouffville Studio Tour in 2004.

  • June 1999 - Earned Japanese Seal on the basis of a test painting submitted to the Sumi-e Artists of Canada.

  • 1995 to 1999 - Studied the Nanga style of Japanese painting.

Related activites

Delivering Art for Communication at the York-Durham Aphasia Centre to adults with communication difficulties that occur after stroke, brain injury or brain disease. This program encourages clients to find self-expression through drawing and painting.
