Still strongly influenced by the credo of the Arts & Crafts Movement -- “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful” (William Morris), Deb strives to make pottery and glass pieces that are both beautiful to look at and to use. With few exceptions, the pottery she creates is functional, many pieces created with people who love to cook and entertain in mind. The functional glass pieces too, are meant not only to decorate the dinner table, but be used at the table as well.
Of course, there’s the decorative work as well – glass pieces and jewellery, jewellery, jewellery. Her work in jewellery started as a way of using small pieces of kiln-formed glass – too small to make a bowl or anything useful, but still so gorgeous. Well, these pieces became the central medallion to a necklace or bracelet! From there it was a short step into addiction. Colour, shape, texture – the incredible range of semi-precious gemstones, glass & metals….. Visit her studio and let her lead you into temptation!
